Youth Exchange and Camps in Switzerland

The information below is for youths residing in foreign countries and wishing to attend a youth camp in Switzerland.

Young people residing Switzerland/Liechtenstein are invited to follow the instructions on the corresponding german, french or italian web pages to register for a youth exchange and camp program in a foreign country.

Camps and Exchange Program 2011

2011 Lions Club Youth camp

Grenchen, Solothurn, Olten (102C)

"Swiss Midlands: Powerfull living area"

Scuol (102E)

"Swiss National Park Adventure"

For both camps:

Camp period: July 23 to August 6, 2011

Participants: 35 girls and boys in each camp

Age 17 -21

Language: english

Activities : sports, cultural activities, camp activities discovery, excursions, fun.

Family hosting before camp: From July 9 to 23, 2011.

Dates are compulsory:

Arrival: July 9, 2011 at Zurich

Departure: August 6, 2011

Application deadline: March 31, 2011

Handwritten applications are not accepted

(space is given on a first come first served basis, camps are usually fully booked by en of January)

Procedure for youths who wish to attend the Swiss Camps and Exchange Programmes

Please follow these steps:

Download the application form above.

Fill-in all the fields electronically on your PC and save the completed application form. Handwritten applications are not accepted.

Write a letter addressed to <Dear unknown Host Family> to present yourself.

Send an e-mail to the Lions District or Multiple District Youth Camp and Exchange Chairperson of your country (ask a local Lions Club to get this email address) and attach
- the completed application form
- the letter to <Dear unknown Host Family>.

Print the application form on paper, then have it signed by your father or guardian and the sponsor Lions Club officer.

Join a passport picture, a copy of your passport, the letter addressed to <Dear unknown Host Family> as well as a valid illness and accident insurance certificate and send everything - together with the signed application form - by letter post to the District or Multiple District Youth Camp and Exchange Chairperson of your country.(In order to save paper, money and time, you can also scan the signatures, passport and insurance certificate and send them by email)

No application will be accepted unless it first has been accepted by the responsible Youth Exchange Chairperson of the sending country
